Finding gifts for Valentine’s Day gets harder every year, but if you are looking for a gift that may be hard to top next year, a trip to Texas and a stay in our I Love Dripping Springs escapes may be the one gift your Valentine never forgets. The trip itself would surely be enough, but because we want you to succeed beyond your wildest dreams, we have provided this guide to a romantic getaway that just keeps getting better with each new activity. Coming home to our Texas love nests at the end of this Dripping Springs Valentine’s Day will be the perfect ending to a perfect day.
Breakfast in Bed
Ok, this is an oldie but a goodie, and the experience will be taken to the next level simply because you are waking up in our premium beds topped with the softest linens. Our fully equipped kitchens, furnished with professional quality appliances will make it easy to prepare her (or his) favorite breakfast dishes. If you aren’t handy in the kitchen, however, you can make a quick run to our favorite donut shop, Drippin’ Donuts, located at 651 US-90, and still make her day. Closed on Mondays, and open at 5 AM, we can promise your Valentine will be sufficiently thrilled.
Road Trip for Two
Yes, we know you just made a trip of hundreds of miles or more, but sometimes a road trip with snacks and sodas and the undivided attention of your soulmate can be the most romantic of all activities. The small towns surrounding Dripping Springs are charming ones, each offering something new and exciting to explore, as shown below.
• Gruene Hall, 1281 Gruene Road in New Braunfels – Practice your two-step with a stop in the oldest continually operated dance hall in the state of Texas. The music has been playing since 1878 and although the performers and the dancers have changed many time over the decades, the romance enjoyed here never changes.
• Salt Lick Barbecue, 18300 Farm to Market Road 1826 in Driftwood – Texas is known for being the home state of our 36th president, for remembering the Alamo, and for its delicious food, with barbecue being what we were all raised on! The Salt Lick Barbecue in nearby Driftwood is known for being the best of the best and a lunch on your road trip will be a memorable experience.
• Luckenbach Texas General Store, 251 E Main Street in Luckenbach – Country fans are probably humming the song about this small town already, and we apologize for that, but still think it is a great road trip destination. The town is small, blink once and you’ll miss it but the general store retains its vintage charm while offering a wonderful supply of gifts and souvenirs.
As Bright as Your Love This Dripping Springs Valentine’s Day
Even as the trip to Dripping Springs is surely more than enough, you are the type of person who has never believed that less is more and a stop in VIK Jewelers, located at 598 US-290 #240, will give your sweet a treat she will treasure forever. If you are wanting to pop the biggest question, VIK offers a beautiful selection of bridal sets, offering rings that are as bright and shiny as your love for each other.
Olamaie, 1610 San Antonio Street in Austin
A romantic dinner is an age-old Valentine’s Day tradition, and although Olamaie is not in Dripping Springs, we didn’t add it to our road trip section, because frankly, it just isn’t that far away. Offering elevated versions of our favorite Southern dishes, this unique restaurant is based out of a beautiful old house and offers a dining experience you will never forget. The menu changes daily and the wine list is an extensive one, but please remember to save room for dessert. No Valentine’s Day would be complete without something chocolate and they do marvelous things with the ordinary cocoa bean! If you can’t finish the dessert, that’s ok, bring home the leftovers and enjoy it as a late night snack under the light of the microwave with your Valentine.
