HomeDripping Springs Texas InfoDripping Springs Travel Guide For Maximum Enjoyment

Planning a vacation can be an exciting way to escape your real life for a few minutes, or even hours at a time, and it’s even more so when you begin to plan your Dripping Springs getaway. You’ve already decided on the two most important parts of your vacation, the destination and choosing which I Love Dripping Springs sanctuary fits like a glove, but there are more things you need to consider and dream about, and this Dripping Springs travel guide will help you narrow down the focus. From what to pack to what to do and where to eat and shop, we try to cover it all!

Packing Light

You will pack according to the season, but even in winter you might want to pack your swimsuits, as many of our homes include a hot tub under the open sky! Clothing you can layer for the winter, flip flops, sunscreen, and sunglasses for the summer, (Texas is a casual place and you won’t need the fancy clothes!) and perhaps a pair of your most comfortable hiking shoes will complete your list. Our fully equipped laundry rooms allow you to pack light and save room for gifts and tchotchkes on your return back to reality!

Playing in Dripping Springs

From relaxing in the comfort of your Dripping Springs rental property to sipping your favorite beverages at the wineries, breweries, and distilleries (Hawk’s Shadow Estate Winery, Twisted X Brewery, and Frog Pond Distillery are a few good examples!) that will ensure the fun never ends, there is always something fun to do in the Hill Country. Plan to listen to live music at Hudson’s on Mercer, or if you are traveling with young kids, add a day trip to Austin and a visit to the Austin Zoo to your itinerary. Shopping at the stores and boutiques that are an integral part of Mercer Street is always a fun way to fill your vacation hours, (Revel Wilde is unlike any store you will ever find again!) and if you want more, head back to Austin and continue your spree, perhaps losing yourself in the unique wares found at Uncommon Objects!

A Taste of the Town

Our favorite part of traveling is getting to enjoy the flavors of the region, and Dripping Springs, while a small town, offers some great places to eat! Try a country breakfast at the Oak Creek Café or grab some of the tastiest tacos you have ever tried at Flores Taco Shack for lunch. Enjoy sweet treats or brunch time quiches at Abby Jane Bakeshop or devour an elegant meal at Tillies and explore a more sophisticated side of Dripping Springs!
