HomeDripping Springs Top 5sTop 5 Local Only Breweries

Vacationing can be thirsty business as you hike, bike, and explore all that is wonderful about the area you are visiting, and when your Dripping Springs getaway has you seeking something frosty to quench that thirst, you do the smart thing and turn to I Love Dripping Springs for advice on where to drink! Because you do not want to settle for a beer you can buy at your own watering hole back in your hometown, this guide to our top five local only breweries Dripping Springs will quench your thirst in a whole new way!

Suds Monkey Brewing Company, 12024 US-290 in Austin

Having to narrow down your brewery choices to just five may be a little difficult, but we are happy to roll in at number five with Suds Monkey Brewing Company, a brewery and pizza place that got its start in the basement of the owner’s mom’s house! Open Wednesdays through Sundays and offering a tasty selection of locally brewed beers, every sip will be your favorite, especially when paired with a homemade pie fresh from the kitchen! Offering a play space in the back, Suds Monkey Brewing Company is a family friendly eatery, so bring the kids along and enjoy a great time for all!

Bell Springs Winery & Brewery, 3700 Bell Springs Road in Dripping Springs

We knew we would add Bell Springs to the list of local breweries, but we just didn’t know how to rank it, as it is not just a brewery but a winery as well! Some of our staff thinks the wine part should lower its position on our list, others think it is cause for celebration and should raise its ranking! In any case, Bell Springs Winery & Brewery is destined to be your favorite spot to quench your thirst, as you much on cheese plates (in the winery section) or order food from the food trucks often parked outside. Featuring board games to play between sips of the lagers you love, there is a small play area for children, but if your kids are easily bored, you might want to choose Suds Monkey and save Bell Springs for another time!

One Shot Distillery & Brewery, 31610 Ranch Road 12 in Dripping Springs

After enjoying beer and wine, it is a natural progression to continue on down the road of thirst quenchers to the One Shot Distillery & Brewery for more sips of beer and a shot (or two!) of vodka! Veteran owned and dedicated to helping out other veterans and first responders, there is a full-time wings truck on the premises which is in the process of being moved into a new home, a shipping container that will be the permanent home of the wings truck! Open Wednesdays through Sundays as well, this place isn’t exactly family friendly, but the restaurant next door offers a place to hang out for awhile when you need more sustenance than that offered by wings at this Dripping Springs brewery.

Acopon Brewing Company, 211 W Mercer Street in Dripping Springs

Historic downtown Dripping Springs is the location of our next brewery. Acopon Brewing Company is open every day of the week and definitely needs to be added to the top of your vacation bucket list! Serving an ever-changing selection of locally brewed beers on tap, our current favorite is called Old Pounder and offers 5.4% ABV; be sure to sample all they offer.

Ghost Note Brewing, 23663 Ranch Road 12 @ Ghost Note Lane in Dripping Springs

New isn’t always better, but this new entry to the very active brewery scene in Dripping Springs is an exciting addition! The beer menu is tasty, and because they also offer Bell Springs Wines to sip, beer and wine drinkers can once again live together in harmony. At the moment it offers a food truck known for its gourmet hot dogs, but the playscape for children is still in the process of being built. Children are happily welcomed, and when they finish construction on the playscape, we think this new brewery is destined to be your new happy place!

Fitzhugh Brewing, 15435 Fitzhugh Road in Dripping Springs

As we stated earlier, it has been difficult narrowing down our choices of breweries Dripping Springs to just five, and choosing the top spot was almost impossible, but Fitzhugh Brewing has won by a nose; a very boopable nose that is, as it is dog friendly on its patio. The cold brews include a variety called Star Party that pays homage to Dripping Springs designation as an International Dark Sky community, and their full menu does an excellent job of sopping up the excess alcohol in your system!
