The following are a few options to consider adding to your itinerary the next time your travel plans bring you to town for a Dripping Springs Fall.

Dripping Springs Fall Foliage Hike in Westcave Preserve

There’s nothing more inspiring than watching nature highlight her best colors in the fall and when you’re hoping to combine that moment with a wonderful hike, Westcave Preserve is the place to enjoy it all! Complete with trails, waterways, lush foliage, and towering oaks and junipers, those looking forward to lacing up their boots and trekking their way to the fun will find plenty of shades of changing leaves to enjoy along the way. Bring your camera and sense of adventure for this fall excursion that’s bound to be a highlight of the journey this Fall in Dripping Springs.

Also known as the Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center, hikers can enjoy the 76-acre region in cooler weather while you walk the uplands, savanna, trails, and take guided tours to a verdant grotto.

Founders Memorial Park

An easier hike than many of the other trails around Dripping Springs, Founders Memorial Park has trails mainly for a relaxing walk rather than exercise or challenge. It also has concession stands if you’re hungry or thirsty after your hike.

Charro Ranch Park at Dripping Springs

For many people, fall is the perfect weather to hike. The weather is cooling off so you can put in a little more effort. With 64 acres of land, Charro Ranch is a great place to spend some of your Dripping Springs Fall journey. You can do more than hike this beautiful park—you can walk it, bike it, stroll it, or just sit amongst the oaks and junipers for a picnic lunch or dinner.

We have Lucy Reed Hibberd to thank for this beautiful ranch. She donated it to the City of Dripping Springs in 2008 after it had been in her family for 50 years! She is also the one who developed the trails and natural study signs that you see today.

Visit a Winery

Year-round, the many wineries and vineyards that make up the Dripping Springs region are wonderful to visit, but there’s something particularly appealing about sampling palate-pleasing labels in the chillier fall season. Whether you make your way to Solaro Estate Winery, Duchman Family Winery, Fall Creek Vineyards, or one of the many in between, taking time to enjoy a tasting session, learn about production and tour the grounds promises to be a delight.

If you tour the wineries, make sure to book a guided tour through Slowpokes Winery Tours so you can have designated drivers who know exactly where they’re going!

Brewery and Distillery Tours

Wine is not the only alcoholic beverage manufactured in Dripping Springs. There are lots of breweries and distilleries here, too. Enjoy a cold brew at 12 Fox Beer, Beerburg Brewing, Twisted X, and lots of other Dripping Springs breweries.

For distilleries, check out Deep Eddy Vodka, Frog Pond Distillery and Desert Door Texas Sotol, among many others. Taste bourbon, vodka, whiskey, rye, gin, and other great spirits! Again, book a tour so someone else can drive.

Savor a Delicious Meal

When you’ve spent the day out and about exploring the beauty of Dripping Spring’s terrain, there’s something inviting about the prospect of finishing it all off with a savory meal in cozy surroundings. Head over to Homespun Kitchen and Bar at 131 E. Mercer Street when you’re in the mood to treat your tastebuds to everything from burgers and fries to fried chick and pulled pork. Comfort food abounds this Fall in Dripping Springs and is well paired with craft beer and tantalizing dessert options at Homespun Kitchen and Bar no matter when you drop by.

If you’re in the mood to add music to your meal, lots of the Dripping Springs restaurants feature live bands and other entertainment. You can add tunes to your burgers, pizza, and more.

Just want dessert or coffee—or both? The local have assembled no fewer than ten great destinations for light fare. Of special note is the SquareRüt Kava Bar, which features the calming drink kava, grown in the western Pacific islands.
